The Somali Immigration and Naturalization has strongly warned against using its services for fraud and corruption, saying anyone involved in a corruption case will be brought to justice.
A statement from the agency said that citizens and foreigners served by the Immigration and Naturalization Service have the right to a fair and transparent service, free from bias and fraud.
“The Immigration and Naturalization Agency is a Federal Agency that provides Immigration and Passport Services in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Somalia.”
“Participating in a fraud case, whether an official of the Agency or a citizen or a foreigner, is subject to due process.”
The agency called on citizens and foreigners in need of the Agency’s services to abide by the rules and regulations for the provision of Immigration and Citizenship services, in order to contribute to the efficiency of the work.
The agency also urged Citizens and Foreigners applying for Agency services to report immediately to the Agency’s complaints office if they encounter bias, corruption and abuse of power
“They are required to notify the Agency’s Complaints Office and contact points or to file a complaint with the Agency’s complaint box at the Agency’s headquarters,” The agency said in a statement.
