Somali Ambassador to Turkey Amb. Jama Aidid Mohamed and a delegation led by him left for a working visit to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
Somalia’s ambassador to Turkey met with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramo and discussed relations between the Somali government and Azerbaijan based on co-operation.
In a statement, Amb. Jama Aidid thanked Minister Jeyhun Bayramo for the warm welcome he and his delegation received, and said it was important to restore relations between the two countries.
“For our part, we are grateful for the warm welcome. We conveyed the message of the Somali government on the relationship between the two countries: brotherhood, mutual respect and balanced cooperation. We noted the long-standing brotherly and cultural ties between the two countries, ”said Somalia’s Ambassador to Turkey.
The Somali Ambassador said in his statement that the resumption of relations between the Federal Government of Somalia and Azerbaijan is an opportunity for both countries.
