High school students begin the secondary school exams amid tight security

The Ministry of Education has announced that 42,000 students will sit for the secondary school national exam, which has begun today in Mogadishu and other parts of the country.

Government officials have inspected the various centers for the Secondary School Leaving Examination before the administration of the exams.

The Federal Government of Somalia police forces have been on high alert in the areas where students were taking the entrance exams, and vehicles of all kinds have been blocked accessing the exams centers.

The Ministry of Cultural Affairs and Higher Education of the Federal Government of Somalia, conducts an annual Secondary School Leaving Examination, in accordance with the country’s education system.

In Jubbaland regional state, an estimated 1221 students have sat for the secondary school national examinations in 9 centres.

The Jubbaland state secondary schools examinations have been inaugurated by the first president of the Jubbaland state of Somalia Mohamud Sayyid Aden and was accompanied by the newly appointed education minister Serar Maax.
