Speaker of the House of the People Mohamed Mursal Sheikh Abdirahman announced the list of the 15 lawmakers who have been barred from attending upcoming parliamentary sessions in the wake of yesterday’s house ugly mess and confusion.
A statement from the Speaker, the Speaker of the House of the People, the Secretary General of the House of the People, and the Security Forces of the House of the People stated that 15 members of the House of the People cannot attend 5 meetings.
The lawmakers are said to have been suspended due to gross misconduct and caused an uproar on yesterday’s opening meeting of the Parliament which has thrown the meeting into confusion and disarray.
“Referring to the letter GSH003 / B-10/12/21 issued by the Office of the Auditor General dated 27/3/2021, in accordance with the report of the Auditor General, the following members who obstructed the meeting of the House on 27 March 2021 suspended from five (5) sessions from the date of this letter in violation of Article 16, Article 18, paragraphs (a), (b), Article 19, paragraph 1 (b) and Article 28, Clause 5 and Article 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the House”.
Other members who have been present at the meeting of the House and who have not intentionally signed the petition to obstruct the proceedings have been instructed by the House Rules to submit their names to the Speaker in accordance with Article 23, Clause 16.
The following are the members of the House of the People have been suspended by the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Lawmaker Sadiq Heri Warfa, one of the suspended lawmakers, said the chairman’s decision was illegal and that they would not comply with his order and would attend Parliamentary meetings and house sessions.
