The capital of Galmudug state of Somalia is expected to host a consultative meeting on Wednesday today.
The conference was scheduled to open on the 1st of this month but was delayed by officials who did not go to Dhusamareb.
The meeting was also scheduled to open yesterday but was delayed after Presidents of Jubbaland and Puntland arrived a bit late in the central city of Dhusamareeb.
Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble, heads of states, Hir-Shabelle, South West, Galmudug, Puntland, Jubbaland & the governor of Banadir region are all present.
The Consultative Meeting will discuss a solution to the controversy over the election and the agreement reached on 17 September 2020.
Close sources also said that the conference will be iron out the conflict between the federal government and the regional governments of Puntland and Jubbaland which suspended cooperation between the two sides.
There will also be separate meetings between federal government officials and regional governments in Dhusamareb to discuss the situation in the country.
The consultative meeting of Heads of State and federal Government is expected to issue a communiqué on whether to reach an agreement on the country’s elections to resolve the dispute over the implementation of the elections in Somalia.
