In a significant political development, the Jubbaland regional state has officially announced its withdrawal from the Consultation Forum held on October 7, 2024. The decision, described as both independent and responsible, underscores Jubbaland’s commitment to self-determination.
The Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism for the Jubbaland government, Abdifitax Mohamed Mukhtaar has emphasized the region’s autonomy in a recent statement. “If President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has forgotten, let him be reminded that Jubbaland is not guided by Villa Somalia. It controls its own destiny,” Mukhtaar declared.
This move highlights Jubbaland’s firm stance on maintaining its sovereignty and decision-making authority, independent of external influence.
