The Ministry of Fisheries and Blue Economy of the Jubbaland State has conducted a capacity-building training to
enhance the skills of the Ministry’s staff on sustainable Fisheries value chain development.
The Director General of the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources of the Jubbaland State Government, Mahmoud Abdi Ahmed said the capacity development training for the Ministry’s staff is expected to assist in the registration and data collection of fishing cooperatives in Jubbaland areas which is scheduled to take place soon.
The program is geared towards enhancing, creating and improving the entire process of fishing, processing, and distributing fish, from the initial capture to the final consumer, while ensuring economic, social, and environmental sustainability.
