The President of the Jubaland state, Ahmed Mohamed Islam has received the Gedo region bridge reconstruction committee at the Presidential palace in Kismayo.
The committee which was selected by the traditional elders is working to start a community-led consultation to rebuild the bridges in the region that were damaged by the recent heavy rains that hit most of the country.
The Jubbaland state President heard to the committee’s efforts in the bridges construction in a bid to ease business and social movement.
The Jubbaland President has indicated that after the completion of the current consultations, experts will be sent to evaluate the construction work and bring forth the best possible ways to rebuild the damaged bridges.
