The President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has today received the Secretary General of the IGAD Regional Organization, Workneh Gebeyehu at the Presidential Palace and discussed the strengthening of cooperation between Somalia and IGAD, regional stability and climate change.
President Hassan Sheikh shared with the Secretary, the Somalia’s achievements in the areas of security, Alshabaab war, economy, good governance and emphasized the importance of the region in protecting the independence and territorial unity of other countries, in order to achieve regional development plans.
On his part, the Secretary General of the IGAD Regional Organization, Workneh Gebeyehu presented the general strategy of IGAD in the region, especially the maintenance of peace and development in the region.
