Somali Prime Minister appoints four new director generals

Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre has appointed four new Director Generals to head key ministries in the Somali government, according to a decree issued yesterday.

Ibrahim Aden Ibrahim Nadaara has been appointed Director General of the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, while Yusuf Abdirahman Samatar will serve as the Director General of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.

Mohamed Bashir Omar has been named the Director General of the Ministry of Family and Human Rights Development. Abdullahi Jamal Mohamed has been appointed Director General of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

These appointments come shortly after Prime Minister Barre’s recent cabinet reshuffle last month. Key appointments included General Bashir Mohamed Jama (Bashir Goobe) as the Minister of Family Affairs and Human Rights Development, Omar Ali Abdi as State Minister of Defense, Said Mohamed Hayd as State Minister of Public Works and Housing, and Mohamud Abdiqadir Haji (Jeego) as Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports.
