Kenya-Somalia JCC meeting in Nairobi focuses on bilateral cooperation

Somali and Kenyan officials are attending the Kenya-Somalia Joint Commission for Cooperation (JCC) meeting in Kenya, which will continue from May 3 to 6, 2024.

The Somali delegation is led by Mohamed Fatir, Director of Africa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Ambassador Jabril Ibrahim Abdulle, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Kenya.

The conference will consist of two sessions: the meetings of the joint technical committee from May 3 to 5 and the ministerial session on Monday, May 6, which will be chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Fiqi, and his counterpart, Dr. Musalia Mudavadi.

During the discussions in the sessions, officials will focus on the development of trade cooperation, infrastructure, security, agriculture, tourism, health, education, and the blue economy.

The Kenya-Somalia Joint Commission for Cooperation (JCC) will be followed by a visit from Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Bare to Kenya to meet with President William Ruto.
