The third deputy chairman of the Somaliland’s ruling party, Hussein Aden Adde, has joined the newly formed SSC-Khatumo administration.

In an interview with SOMNEWS TV in Las Anod town on Monday, Kulmiye party’s third deputy chairman announced his withdrawal from Somaliland politics. He commended the SSC people for their year-long struggle against Somaliland, expressing support for their desire to become a regional state under the federal government of Somalia.

Initially aligned with the Somaliland army at the onset of the conflict, Hussein has now changed his political stance. This shift comes five months after Abdirisakh Khalif Ahmed, the Speaker of Parliament for the self-declared state of Somaliland, resigned and joined the SSC-Khatumo administration.

Last month, the Somali federal government pledged to collaborate with the newly elected authorities of the SCC-Khatumo administration, which made Somaliland angry.
