High-level government officials, civil society members, and international partners attended the two-day forum organized by the National Economic Council. President Mohamud stated that the vision is the foundation for enhancing life, achieving liberation and stability, constructing economic infrastructure, and governing the country.

The President highlighted the challenges hindering the lives of the Somali people, including conflicts, insecurity, droughts, and floods. He emphasized that Vision 2060 bridges the current generation and future generations, aiming to propel the country towards prosperity and progress.

“Today, we are starting a new journey that will lead our country to prosperity and progress. The Millennium Vision 2060 shows our commitment to overcoming current challenges, creating a solid foundation for future generations,” he said.

The 2060 Vision comprises three parts:

2- Mid-term goals (2025-2040): Building institutional capacity, reforming government structures, and ensuring good governance.

3- Long-term goals (2035-2060): Emphasizing economic development, raising living standards, and promoting social integration.
