Flash floods caused by heavy rains pounding Bardhere town are said to have caused the death of 9 people and injuring scores of others.
Confirming to Radio Kismayo, the residents of the town said the death came after the raging flood waters flooded a small bridge located at the Kurman River in the Kurman neighborhood.
Many of those killed are said to have been crossing the bridge to the other end before they were swept away by the raging flood waters that filled the Kurman bridge.
Reports further indicated that scores of other people have been rescued from the flood havoc with some having serious injuries.
