Libya, Somalia review immigration issues

The Government of National Unity (GNU) discussed with Somalia the deportation of Somali immigrants from Libya and the return of the General Secretariat of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (SEN-SAD) to Tripoli.

The discussion came in a meeting between the Deputy GNU Prime Hussein Al-Gotrani, and the Somali Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Dawood Aweys, in Tripoli.

According to a GNU statement, the Libyan and Somali officials discussed “bilateral relations” and necessary mechanism to assist the Libyan authorities in facilitating the procedures for deporting illegal immigrants to their countries of origin.

The statement said Al-Gotrani and Somali Information Minister Daud Aweys talked about necessary arrangements and procedures for the return of the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (SEN-SAD) to Tripoli.
