Somalia Foreign Affairs Minister participates in the 77th session of UN General Assembly meeting in New York

The Somali Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abshir Omar Jama, has participated in the opening ceremony of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly, which was held in New York in the United States.

The meeting of the United Nations General Assembly discussed a host of issues including food shortage, energy, unemployment, empowerment of women, climate change and education.

The Somali delegation attending the United Nations General Assembly will hold extraordinary meetings with some of the heads of regional governments and foreign ministers as well as representatives from international and regional organizations.

The meetings are focused on strengthening Somalia’s relationship with dozen countries and organizations to promote strategic cooperation.
