PM Barre meets with women, business leaders as deadline for cabinet appointment draws near

He urged the business leaders to continue supporting the new government to assist in tackling the drought.

Somali Parliament demanded on Monday that Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre select his cabinet within ten days.

Barre was expected to name his cabinet by Monday, which marked 30 days after his appointment, but he said he is still seeking consultations and speaking with candidates.

Barre, appointed on June 25, requested Parliament to give him an extension to form an all-inclusive government, noting that the delay was due to a protracted electoral process
