The Somali Football Federation (SFF) plans to charge fans for watching matches in the first and second divisions of the football league.

The interim chairman of the Somali Football Federation, Ali Shiine, said that the plan aims to develop sports in Somalia.

“This year, we hope to change a lot. We have to discuss the development of the 1st and 2nd division leagues. I hope the fans will enter the pitches for money this year,” said Ali Shiine.

However, the number of football fans in the country has been increasing over the past years, although the Somali Football Federation (SFF) manages a small number of stadiums in Mogadishu, which are well-built.

Former Somali Football Federation chairman Abdi Qani resigned months ago following a dispute with the federation.
