The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Hussein Roble has met with the UK Special Envoy to the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea, Philip Parham in Geneva ahead of a high-level conference on drought in the Horn of Africa set to open today.
The Prime Minister and the Ambassador discussed bilateral relations and the development of strong cooperation between the two countries and the severe drought situation in Somalia.
Ambassador Philip Parham emphasized the UK Government’s continued commitment to support Somalia.
They also discussed the country’s electoral process which is in its final stages and the Ambassador thanked Somali Prime Minister for his good management of the country’s elections which have reached a successful conclusion.
On his part, the Prime Minister thanked the UK Government for its continued co-operation and friendship with the Government of Somalia, especially in the face of such difficult circumstances.
