Somali Premier Condemns Mortars attack on Somalia’s Parliament

The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mohamed Hussein Roble has condemned yesterday’s mortar attack on the Villa Hargeisa in Mogadishu, saying it was a terrorist act aimed at disrupting the work of the Federal Parliament of Somalia.

“Yesterday’s attempt was a cowardly act aimed at intimidating the parliament which is in the process of fulfilling its constitutional mandate and the attack is aimed at crippling the process,” a statement from the Prime Minister’s office said.

The Somali Prime Minister also commended the efforts of the Parliament to complete and expedite the elections process.

The Prime Minister has also praised the dedicated work of the National Army and directed the Commanders of the Armed Forces to redouble their efforts to ensure maximum security and prevent any attempt to disrupt security in the country, especially at this time of year.
