Somalia’s Minister of State for Education, Culture and Higher Education, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdulle has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in education between Somalia and Qatar.
The MoU, which supports the education of Somali children who do not have access to schooling, will also improve the quality of education in the country and combat illiteracy in the Somali society.

“Education for Somali children is a top priority for our government. This MoU is an acceleration of our efforts to provide high quality education to Somali students as well as to prevent future generations from missing out on school,” Said the Somali Minister of State for Education, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdulle.

The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has in recent years made significant efforts to improve the quality of education in the country by increasing the budgetary allocation for education, developing curricula for primary, middle and high schools and providing free education to thousands of children in Somalia.

The signing ceremony was also attended by the Somali Ambassador to Qatar, Abdirizak Farah Ali Taano, the Advisor to the Minister of Education, Said Jama Guled and other officials from the Federal Government of Somalia.
