The Somali Federal Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Khadija Mohamed Diriye and the Head of the King Salman Humanitarian and Relief Center of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mr. Yousef Bakheet Rahmah have today jointly handed over relief aid to Banadir Regional Social Affairs Commissioner Ms. Basma Amir Jaketti and Banadir Regional Women’s Association Chairperson, Jawahir Barqab.
The handing over of the relief aid was undertaken at the Somali ministry for humanitarian affairs and disaster management offices.
The relief aid is intended for some districts in the Benadir region on the outskirts of Mogadishu, which are home to the largest number of IDPs displaced by the drought in southern and central Somalia.
