Jubbaland security minister General Yusuf Osman Dhumal has today chaired a security meeting to ensure maximum security in Jubbaland during the upcoming parliamentary elections.
The security meeting was attended by the commander in chief of the Jubbaland forces, top Jubbaland security officials and the Attorney General of the Jubbaland state.
The high level security meeting exchanged views on the security situation in Jubbaland state in its opening. The military officials on the front lines also reported on the security situation in areas under their control during their meeting.
The meeting has also extensively discussed on the security of the polling stations for the upcoming parliamentary elections in Jubbaland state. The top security officials were instructed to be extra vigilant during the election process.
The Jubbaland Police Commander, Brigadier General Mohamud Abdi Sheikh Hujale who spoke to the media said the meeting largely discussed security matters in the Jubbaland state and how to provide maximum security during the upcoming parliamentary polls in Jubbaland state.
The meeting comes at a time when elections for some of the seats in the Lower House of parliament are expected to take place in Kismayo, Jubbaland state early next week.
