The Jubbaland Disaster Preparedness and Response Committee has today announced the distribution of $ 35,000 courtesy of the Federal Government of Somalia in response to the drought in the Lower Jubba and Gedo regions.
The distribution plan will start in Gedo, Kulbiyow, Kudha, Raskaboni and Afmadow districts of Lower Juba region which are in urgent need, according to the Jubbaland Disaster Preparedness and Response Committee.
Abdi Ali Hassan, a member of the committee, said the aid quota is reaching everyone in all drought-affected areas of Jubbaland state.
Ugas Abdullahi Sirat Abdi, who spoke on behalf of the Jubbaland Disaster Preparedness and Response Committee, has thanked the Federal Government of Somalia for providing the aid to the people of Jubbaland regional state who were affected by the drought adding that the distribution exercise would begin tomorrow in earnest.
