The National Consultative Council conference comprising of the Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble, the Presidents of the five Regional States and the Governor of Benadir Region has today entered its fourth day in the Somali Capital, Mogadishu

The conference, which opened on Monday at the Afisiyoni Tent in Mogadishu also heard from the Union of Candidates, representatives of the international community, civil society organizations and women’s representatives.

Yesterday afternoon, the leaders of the Consultative Council discussed the security issues that the Somali Prime Minister had demanded to be handed over to in order to manage the long-delayed Somali polls or he will not be responsible for the elections, a move disputed by regional state leaders.

Today, the National Consultative Council is expected to have a tough debate on the country’s security and the challenges facing the country’s elections.
