Jubbaland Attorney General, Mohamed Sheikh Osman said they have destroyed nine 20-litre jericans of illicit liquor and have arrested three suspects in connection with the manufacture and sale of alcohol in Kismayo.
The Jubbaland AG has sent a stern warning to the Jubbaland community against the use of narcotics and illicit drugs which he said poses a great threat to public and health safety.
He directed the public to assist the police in cracking down on drug peddlers and individuals involved in drug and narcotics trafficking in Kismayo adding that Jubbaland state would not provide a safe haven for drug peddlers.
“Alcohol is forbidden and God has forbidden it. We will not allow what God has forbidden to be brought into Kismayo city and sold. We will not allow drug traffickers and peddlers ruin the youth of Kismayo,” Said Mohamed Sheikh Osman.
Jubbaland security agencies have recently stepped up their crack down on drug smugglers, producers and traffickers to rid Kismayo from the shackles of drug menace.
The Jubbaland Police and Military vowed to continue their clampdown until alcohol and other drug substance abuses are completely rid from Kismayo town.
