A high level delegation from the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) has today arrived in Mogadishu, Somalia led by its Executive Secretary, Dr Workna Gebeho.
The delegation was welcomed at Aden Adde International Airport by federal government officials and escorted to the presidential palace.
IGAD members also held an introductory meeting with the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hamud Abdi Hassan Bekos to discuss the situation in the country.
Workna Gebeho and his delegation are in Mogadishu to meet with the outgoing Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo and Somali prime minister Mohamed Husein Roble.
They will also meet with representatives of the international community based in Mogadishu to discuss current issues in Somalia.
However, Somalia transition process has been delayed due to the ongoing electoral disputes.
