US Senate nominates Larry Edward Andre as new US Ambassador to Somalia replacing Donald Yamamoto

The United States Senate has confirmed by voice vote that Larry Edward Andre, Jr a ranking career member of the Senior Foreign Service, Class of Minister-Counselor, to be the Ambassador of the US to the Federal Republic of Somalia.

Larry Andre had previously served as an Ambassador to Mauritania from 2014 to 2017 and later as an Ambassador of the United States to Djibouti from 2017 to 2021.

Andre Larry will be replacing Donald Yamamoto and taking office in the coming weeks.

He has been a diplomat since 1990 and a career member of the US senior foreign service.
