Somali Minister for Defense, Hassan Hussein Haji had a fruitful meeting with UNSOM Special Representative, Ambassador James Swan, to discuss the ongoing work between UNSOM and the Somali Ministry of Defense and human rights protection matters.
The meeting took place in a friendly and transparent manner, and included Ambassador Lisa Filipeto, UNSOS Chairperson, Ms. Kirsten Young, Chairperson of the Human Rights Watch (KIXI-HRPG), Brigadier General Papa Ngom, UNSOM Senior Adviser and Ms. Adelina Urmanova, Assistant to the Office of the UNSOM Special Representative.
The Somali Minister for Defense was accompanied by the Director General of the Ministry of Defense, Hassan M. Said Samantar “Gaaliye” and the Director of Administration and Finance of the Defense Ministry, Ali Aden Hassan.
