International Community discusses Election Complaints with Somali Electoral Commissions

The international community has yesterday held a meeting with the Federal Electoral Implementation Committee, the State Electoral Implementation Committee and the Electoral Dispute Resolution Committee in Mogadishu.

The meeting discussed the electoral process so far, and underlined the need to ensure a credible and acceptable electoral process that is moving forward.

The various electoral commissions provided information on the elections to the International Community Representatives.

Representatives of the International Community addressed the concerns of the elections, and urged the various commissions to hold fair and mutually acceptable elections.

International donors to Somalia are putting various pressure on senior Somali government officials and electoral commissions to end the deadlock.
