National Consultative Council convenes on election grievances

The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia Mohamed Hussein Roble last night chaired a meeting of the National Consultative Assembly focusing on transparency and acceleration of elections.

The Prime Minister urged the leaders of the Consultative Council on the need to ensure that the elections are transparent and satisfactory, conveying to the forum concerns and grievances related to the election of some parliamentary seats.

The Prime Minister thanked the states for initiating the Parliamentary elections and called on the remaining ones to do so as soon as possible.

The presidents of Puntland, Jubbaland and Hirshabelle states have announced that they will begin holding parliamentary elections for members of the House of the People in the FPS in the coming days.
