The forces and the leadership of Ahlu Sunna Wal Jama’a, a moderate islamic group which has been fighting government forces backed by SNA in Galmudug state, have withdrawn from Guri ceel district.
The withdrawal of Ahlu Sunna from Guri ceel came after hours of long meditation efforts last night led by businessman Hashi Arabey.
Reports indicate that Ahlu Sunna leadership and their forces retreated to Godwiil village on the outskirts of Guri ceel district.
According to sources, government forces have taken control of the University compound, which has been the base of operation and under the control of Ahlu Sunna forces during the 4-day fighting.
The government forces are also said to have seized back two tactical vehicles which the Ahlu Sunna took control of during one of the fighting in Bohol.
The moderate Islamic group are said to have agreed to surrender and hand over the vehicles to the government.
The 4-day intensive fighting in Guri ceel district between the government forces, SNA and Ahlu Sunna is said to have inflicted casualties on both sides.
