Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta has again rejected a ruling by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) that ruled in favor of Somalia over the disputed territorial waters.

Uhuru Kenyatta, has warned that the decision could damage relations between the two neighbouring countries.

The Kenyan president has completely rejected the court’s ruling in the controversial gas and other natural resource blockade, saying it would “significantly change the country’s economic and political development and could bring insecurity to the Horn of Africa region ”.

Kenyatta made the remarks at a celebration of Veterans Day commonly known as Mashujaa day yesterday.

“October 20 is an important day in our history because 1952 was the day the state of emergency was declared on our land and hundreds of Kenyan founders were arrested.”

President Uhuru said Kenya’s freedom fighters have overcome these obstacles and defeated the colonialists.
