The Somali Minister for Ports and Maritime Transport, Maryam Aweys Jama and top government delegation who were on a working visit to Kismayo, the Jubbaland state of Somalia have met with Jubbaland Minister for Internal Security Yusuf Hussein Osman Dhumal.
The meeting, which was also attended by Jubbaland Minister for Ports and Maritime Transport, Abdinaaf extensively discussed how to strengthen the overall structure of the Jubbaland State Coast Guard to prevent crime at sea.
They also focused on tackling illegal fishing, coastal pollution and other issues.
The authorities have agreed to work together on the matter.
The meeting comes at a time when the Somali government’s Ministry of Ports and Maritime Transport has recently handed over vehicles to the Jubbaland state administration.
