The Jubbaland State House of Assembly today held its third session and top of the agenda being the approval of the investment and trade licenses bill previously submitted by the Jubbaland Ministry of Trade and Industry.
The session was attended by 55 members of the Jubbaland Parliament.
The chairman of the Jubbaland parliament’s trade committee, Ali Abdullahi Ibrahim underscored the importance of the bill before the parliament and said that it has also been given the nod by the Jubbaland cabinet.
“This law is unique to the licenses of the Jubbaland Ministry of Commerce, and trade is an export and import which is key to the Jubbaland state. The Jubbaland parliament in the presence of 55 lawmakers and all of them approved the law by a show of hands,” Said Ali Abdullahi Ibrahim.
The Deputy Minister for Trade and industry said the law will esse the burden on common mwananchi and lift them of heavy cost of buying commodities.
“We have made a lot of discounts on obtaining licenses and we intend for the community to do a discount on the products they bring so that the community can benefit and be shown mercy,” Said the Jubbaland Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry.
The investment and licensing law passed by the Jubbaland parliament today will change Jubbaland’s business if enacted.
