The U.S. State Department has warned its citizens still in Afghanistan to evacuate around Kabul airport immediately, citing “perceived danger” of an imminent attack.
The Taliban have now closed all roads leading to Kabul airport, allowing only licensed vehicles. The United States continues to evacuate people in Afghanistan, but the latest UK troops, diplomats and officials have now withdrawn from Kabul.
The attack was said to be possible early Sunday.
A suicide bomber struck near the airport on Thursday, killing at least 170 people.
