Burundian troops serving under the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) are conducting a mine clearing operation in Jowhar, the capital of Hir-Shabelle region.
The troops conducted a mine clearing operation on the road between Jowhar Airport and Jowhar town, and an AMISOM statement said that roadside bombs were detonated.
“Burundian AMISOM troops detonated improvised explosive devices (IEDs) on the road between Jowhar Airport and Jowhar town. The community and the people of the town who use this road every day thanked the operation,” AMISOM statement Said.
