The Jubbaland state Ministry of Justice and Religious Affairs has today launched a training course for traditional elders and women in Kismayo, the Jubbaland state of Somalia.
The three-day training on the promotion of justice, especially for women, was conducted for 40 people, including traditional elders, youth and some women in Kismayo.
During the training, the participants were taught about understanding the justice system and the law and how to improve access to justice for women.
The training was supported by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
The training, which was conducted by the Ministry of Justice and ReligiousAffairs, was inaugurated by Jubbaland regional state Minister for Justice Mohamed Yusuf Omar.
The minister for Justice said that there is a need for social justice and equal rights and opportunities for women and the elderly so as to achieve social change in the society.
