The Minister for Defense of the Federal Government of Somalia Hassan Hussein Haji and the Assistant Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Somalia ASG Lisa Filipetto chaired a meeting on the Remote Surveillance System (ZOOM), which was aimed at continuing assistance and donors to support the Armed Forces and accelerate the Army’s reconstruction campaign.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the international community and embassies of allied countries, and discussed in depth the need to maintain support for the Somali National Army.
The Ministry for Defense also presented the priority activities of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces.
The Somali Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces Command are pursuing a major plan to upgrade and develop the Somali National Army in its fight against Somali based Jihadist terror group Al-Shabaab.
