Jubbaland Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources conducts 3-day training for fishermen and fish traders in Kismayo

The Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources of the Jubbaland State of Somalia has today opened a three-day training course for fishermen and fish traders in Kismayo.

A total of 50 people including fishermen and fish traders living in Kismayo are expected to benefit from the 3-day training course.

They are expected to learn lessons on how to cool fish from the catch point to sell point as well as how to improve the hygiene of the fish for sale.

The chairman of Jubbalad Cooperative, Abdirahman Mohamed Farah who spoke at the opening of the training has urged fishermen and fish traders to apply the lessons learnt to boost their profits.

The Jubbaland Deputy Minister for Fisheries and Marine Resources, Mohamed Omar Buno, who was also present at the opening of the training workshop called on the trainees to maximumly benefit from the training to help them increase their fishing production.
The Minister for Fisheries and Marine Resources of the Jubbaland state, Abbas Ali Ibrahim has urged the beneficiaries of the training to use the skills learnt from the course and helpfully apply them in their daily lives.
