AMISOM liberates and hands over Maryan Gubay town to SNA troops

The Ugandan contingent of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) has successfully recaptured the town of Maryan Gubay in the Lower Shabelle region, defeating Al-Shabaab and handed it over to the Somali National Army (SNA).

On Sunday, AMISOM handed over Maryan Gubay to the Somali National Army (SNA) as part of the Somali Transitional Federal Government (TFG) Transition Plan, attended by Lower Shabelle Governor Abdulkadir Sidi and Barawe Deputy District Commissioner Ibrahim Abdinoor.

The Somali Armed Forces have recently taken over former AMISOM held Bases which reflects the growing strength of the Somali national army Force and its ability to take over all areas liberated from the remnants of terrorism.

The AMISOM now continues in the fight against Al-Shabaab terror group to help the SNA in the liberation of the remaining terrorist’s held areas and aimes to support the Somali National Army (SNA)
