Somaliland: President Bihi Inaugurates Somaliland national secondary Examinations

The Somaliland national Secondary School Leaving Examinations has officially kicked off today amid heightened security.

The chairman of the Somaliland Examinations Office said that this year, 46,000 students secondary students have sat for the National Examinations.

Chairman Daud Ahmed Farah said the exams will be held across schools in Somaliland.

He added that this year students have been affected by the global Coronavirus pandemic, citing a difficult time between school lessons and the COVID-19 which largely disrupted the school normal operations.

There are reports that the region of Sool and Sanaag are part of the region’s undertaking the Somaliland national secondary exams, this being regions which Puntland regional state had previously said it will not be part of the Somaliland exams.
