The delegation, which includes United Nations and other humanitarian agencies, inspected the living conditions in Hudur, which has been under Al Shabaab control for almost 10 years.
The delegation first inspected IDP camps on the outskirts of Hudur, where thousands of people have been displaced by Al Shabaab from their villages.
The Minister for Relief and Disaster Management in the South West, Abdinasir Ali Arush, led the delegation and met with community members and the administration officials.
Authorities also inspected some of Hudur’s markets, which are currently short of essential food items.
The delegation met with the administrations of Hudur, Tayeglow and Rabdhure districts, and discussed in depth the security and humanitarian situation in Bakool region.
