Israel strikes Gaza again amid ceasefire

Israel says it has launched airstrikes against Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, following a series of bombings from the Gaza Strip.

Explosions were heard in Gaza City during early prayers today.

Several explosive bombs came from Gaza and were spotted in Israel today, causing extensive fires, according to the Israeli fire department.

It is the first time fighting has erupted since 11 days of fighting between the two sides ended in a ceasefire on May 21st.

It follows an operation by Jewish patriots in East Jerusalem on Tuesday, which led to threats from Hamas, the group that controls Gaza.

A statement from the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said its fighter jets had hit Hamas-controlled military bases in Khan Yunis and Gaza.

They said “terrorist acts” had taken place in the area, and that the IDF had “prepared everything possible to deal with them, including the resumption of hostilities, including acts of terrorism in the Gaza Strip”.

It is not yet clear whether the airstrikes caused any severe damage.
