The Somali National Army (SNA) has carried out a planned operation in Lower Shabelle region, where landmines are said to have been planted.
The operation was carried out by specially trained forces of the Somali National Army and the 4th Brigade of the 17th Battalion Commandos in villages under Barire district in Lower Shabelle region including Balow and Nunay.
The commander of the 4th Gorgoor Commandos said that the operation was successful in clearing four landmines which were planted by the Somalia based Al-Qaeda-affilaited Al-Shabaab terror outfit between Awdheegle and Barire districts in Lower Shabelle region.
