The Somali union of presidential candidates have been holed up in special meetings since yesterday in the Somali capital, Mogadishu.
At the meeting, which included a dinner and a briefing, the Union of Candidates discussed the latest developments in the country and the upcoming elections.
The Union of Candidates also shared in the meeting, the many efforts they have made to prevent the extension of Somali president Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo’s term in Parliament.
They also expressed their satisfaction with those who took part in preventing the office extension, especially the military and political stakeholders in the country.
The special meeting of the Union of Candidates last night comes at a time when the names of the members of the National Electoral Commission have been revealed.
