The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia Mohamed Hussein Roble has called on the people who fled from the ongoing fighting in Mogadishu to return.

A brief statement from the Prime Minister instructed security forces to make it easier for people to return to their homes and places of business.

“I call on those displaced by the recent violence in Mogadishu to return home. I urge the military to make it easier for the public to return to their homes and businesses. We are committed to bringing peace and stability to our people,” Said the statement.

Mohamed Hussein Roble said he is “deeply saddened” by the violence in the Somali capital, Mogadishu and ordered troops to return to their bases.

Tensions have been high in Mogadishu for the past two days with government forces and opposition forces fighting in some areas, setting up barricades in some neighborhoods and displacing scores of people.
