Egypt President Abdel Fattah Saciid Hussein Khalil El-Sisi has issued a Republic Decree No. 174 of 2021, stating that Egypt has been declared a State of Emergency for three months.
The circular states that due to security and medical conditions, the order was imposed at 1pm last night (Sunday, April 25, 2021).
The state of emergency was declared in the Official Gazette today.The decision was made following a review of Egypt’s security and health situation.
On the other hand, the decision empowers the military and police in Egypt to take steps to protect against terrorism and their financing, general security in Egypt, the government and the Public Property Protection, protecting the lives of citizens.
