The First Vice President of Jubaland regional state Mohamud Sayid Aden, yesterday received at the Jubbaland Presidential Palace a delegation led by the Deputy United Nations Special Representative to Somalia, Adam Abdelmoula, accompanied by members of the UNHCR, WHO, UN OCHA WFP among other international organization.
The leaders discussed the resurgence of the Coronavirus health pandemic as well as addressing the ravaging drought situation.
The leaders agreed to stand with the Jubbaland state government and step up efforts that is aimed at addressing the drought situation and the coronavirus.
They said a plan is being worked on to create a sustainable coronavirus free environment in Jubbaland state and to prevent further drought situations.
The meeting also discussed the locust infestation in many parts of Jubbaland regional state and promised to support the state government in overcoming the such problems and aid the local farmers and pastoralists who have been affected by the infestation.
