Pastoralists in Lower Juba, Middle Juba and Gedo regions are being faced with a severe drought.

Some Pastoralists in Lower Juba told Radio Kismayo that the drought situation is dire and their livestock are without water and pasture for days.

“There is no pasture for the animals. We are now feeding them with things we buy in the city and we have nothing left to feed them. The current situation could lead to the loss of many livestock,” said Ali Salad.

The drought in the lower Juba region comes at a time when the country is in a transition mood and disputed elections.
